Sonoma, California. The Sonoma Community Center is pleased to announce the 2026 16th Annual Trashion Fashion Runway Show winners. Winners were chosen in youth/teen and adult categories by judges, and attendees of the shows voted for the People’s Choice Award in adult and youth categories sponsored by Republic Thrift. Awards were given on Saturday, April 25, at the annual Trash Bash Wrap Party and inaugural City of Sonoma Earth Day Event at the Center.

The Sonoma Community Center is expanding its American Sign Language (ASL) programming. Currently, classes are taught exclusively in ASL, but the program will now also teach the language to beginners. This initiative is spearheaded by Azelia Mazur, a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), with her mother, Barbara White, who are dedicated to providing accessible and immersive learning opportunities.

Etched in Sonoma: A Living Legacy, a curated printmaking exhibition by Simon Blattner and Barbara Wells, opens Friday, May 1. This exhibition celebrates the art of etching and the vibrant community of printmakers it continues to inspire. Rooted in a tradition that values both technical precision and creative experimentation, etching has long offered artists a powerful and expressive means of working in ink and paper.

The Sonoma Community Center Print Studio will host a community day of print-focused live art demonstrations led by four talented local Bay Area artists in celebration of “Print Day in May.” On Saturday, May 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., participating artists will each lead two printmaking demonstrations throughout the day. This schedule allows attendees to experience a session with every visiting artist while exploring a range of modern printmaking techniques, including surface design and Japanese papermaking. Early bird pricing is $40 through Friday, April 24.

The Sonoma Community Center invites artists to step into the landscape with Plein Air Oil Painting: Chromatics in the Wild, an 8-week course led by master artist Michael Bartlett. Designed for advanced beginners through advanced painters, the class blends studio instruction with outdoor sessions to build both technical skill and creative perception.

Missouri-based fashion designer Cory Infinite will visit Sonoma to judge the Sonoma Community Center’s sold-out Trashion Fashion Runway Show and will give an artist talk with a book signing on Monday, April 20. The artist talk will be in the Center’s Secret Garden from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It is free to attend, but RSVPs are requested.

The Sonoma Community Center, in partnership with the City of Sonoma, invites the community to a special joint celebration on Saturday, April 25, bringing together the beloved Trash Bash event and the City’s Inaugural Earth Day. The free community gathering will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Center, 276 East Napa Street in Sonoma.

The City of Sonoma, in partnership with the Sonoma Community Center, is thrilled to announce the 6th Annual Earth Day Photo Contest, inviting photographers of all ages to capture the beauty, movement, and meaning of water in Sonoma Valley.

It is the return of Trashion Fashion Season in Sonoma, a celebration of fashion, art, and sustainability culminating in a month of events. The 16th Annual Trashion Fashion Runway Show fundraiser will take place at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 18, with a 1:30 p.m. matinee and a 5:00 p.m. show with a post-runway bubblesand bites reception. Tickets will go on sale for Community Center members on Tuesday, March 10, and to the general public on Thursday, March 12. Ticket prices vary.

The Sonoma Community Center’s third annual Free Lunar New Year Community Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Leading up to the celebration, the Center has planned special cultural programming throughout February and March.
