What you can do about SNAP delays- Information on the local impact of the SNAP delays and what you can do to help in Sonoma Valley:

The Sonoma Community Center will present an intimate concert experience featuring touring singer/songwriter Natalie Gelman. Local Dan Martin of the Noma Rocksteady Band will open the show.

Tours are sold out otherwise. Join us for the 3 PM showing of Scream in Andrews Hall. Tickets are available online or at the door. There will be no door sales at the 6:30 PM show as it is completely sold out.

This year, we partnered with Zero Wast Sonoma to bring Sonoma free classes focused on reducing, reusing, recycling, repurposing, and composting. Participants learned how to dye fabric with kitchen scraps. Sam Paone taught how to make a brined, scrap-based kraut safely and successfully. Discarded t-shirts were transformed into beautifully braided rugs. The week wrapped up with October’s PRINT LAB which used fabric scraps, stained clothing, and other discarded things to create printed patches.

The last of our Zero Waste Week programs will be our monthly PRINT LAB with Kelly Autumn. We’ll be printing on old clothes to create handmade patches. Various printmaking techniques will be taught.

As the capstone to a month of community programming and in celebration of this time-honored Mexican tradition, the Center’s Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) takes place every November. Free to everyone, we invite you to join us for this very special evening.

As part of our Dia de Muertos celebration this year, children and adults are invited to decorate butterflies as symbols of migration, resilience, and hope. Each butterfly carries words of unity, community, and love. Thank you to everyone who came out to see us at Vintage Festival. (See a few photos below.) This fall, the Sonoma Community Center is proud to partner with Zero Waste Sonoma to launch Zero Waste Week 2025 at the Center, a community-wide celebration featuring free and donation-based events, workshops, and activities that focus on building a more sustainable future.
